RICHARD HUMANN, Lance Fung Gallery, 537 Broadway, at Spring Street, (212) 334-6242 (through Dec. 9). This elegantly installed show by Mr. Humann, who lives and works in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is a sly conceptual self-portrait that picks away at what ''self'' really means. On the walls hang framed personal documents -- birth certificate, telephone bills, letters -- from which the artist's name has been cut out. A sound piece consists of a litany of contradictory evaluations of his character delivered by friends. The installation is dominated by a huge photograph of the artist, but with his back to the camera and his single long braid swaying in slow motion like a pendulum (Cotter).
