An omnidirectional microphone was installed in Richard Humann’s Brooklyn art studio for the months of June through August 2015. The microphone was on twenty-four hours a day and picked-up the sounds of work and life in the studio, as well as the street noise that surrounds it in the busy Brooklyn neighborhood. An online radio station was set-up to receive the microphone’s input, and was broadcast live over the internet, and specifically to the exhibition site at Finlayson Art Area, in Tampere, Finland, where a parabolic speaker was installed at the exhibition to relay the transmission.

Transporter, with its twenty-four hour live radio broadcast, shares the intimate and otherwise private workspace with exhibition-goers and those tuned-in worldwide.
