For Curriculum Vitae, Richard Humann cut the letters out of every document ever written about him from the time of birth until the opening of the exhibition in October of 2000. In doing so, he destroyed his original birth certificate, passport, driver’s License, high school and college diplomas, any and all art reviews, and even utility bills. The cutout letters were then transferred to a glass urn, the weight and volume of which equal his ashes had he been cremated.
