K-pop music has become a worldwide sensation that began as an “idol” culture in the mid-1990’s. Since then it has grown into a subculture that has amassed enormous fandoms of teenagers and young adults.

The Kitten Pops draws its inspiration from the K-pop phenomenon and is an addition to the Ascension augmented reality installation. It is installed over the Han River in Seoul, South Korea as a part of the Hangang Art Park 2018 exhibition.
